墨西哥地铁自动扶梯频频故障竟是因为小便？

据1月15日Fox News报道，墨西哥首都墨西哥城的地铁部门发言人统计称，“设备因尿液腐蚀老化”已成为自动扶梯故障的主要原因之一。当地铁部门的轨道及设施副经理Fermin Ramirez称，在客流量不大的地铁站内和非客流高峰期，地铁乘客显然会在自动扶梯上小便，他说“我们打开自动扶梯进行日常维护时，总是能看到很多小便的痕迹”。报告中指出大部分的地铁站点没有设置公共洗手间，甚至没有收费卫生间。地铁部门内的467台自动扶梯，每天大概有22台因故障无法运行。当局认为最大的问题是，许多自动扶梯已经老旧了或者在日常粗心的使用下被损坏。因此，墨西哥城地铁部门计划在未来两年更换55台自动扶梯。目前，墨西哥城的地铁线路总长1.4英里，每年运送乘客16亿人次。

URINE BLAMED IN MEXICO CITY METRO ESCALATOR BREAKDOWNS

Officials with Mexico City's metro system blame "corrosion due to urine" as one of the top causes for escalator breakdowns, Fox News reported on January 15. Fermin Ramirez, the system's assistant manager for rails and facilities, said metro users are apparently urinating on escalators at lightly used stations and during off-peak hours. "When we open up escalators for maintenance, there is always urine," he said. The report noted that most stations have no public restrooms, and cited Twitter users who say there are not even any pay toilets. On any given day, approximately 22 of the system's 467 escalators are out of service. The biggest problem, authorities said, is that many of the escalators are old or have been damaged by rough use. The system plans to replace 55 escalators over the next two years. The 140-mi.-long system records more than 1.6 billion individual rides each year.
