NYC SUBWAY STATION TO CLOSE FOR ELEVATOR REPLACEMENT
The NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will close the Clark Street subway station in Brooklyn Heights for eight months while it replaces the facility's three elevators, Mass Transit reports. MTA decided on simultaneous replacement, because doing them individually would take up to two years and could make service unpredictable. A contract for the work is to be awarded later this year. More than a dozen entrapments were reported at the station in 2019. The station's elevators have been in service for 100 years.
